Sprout is the first of a new series exploring the fascination around plants and the simple joy that watching something grow can offer.
I myself am a plant person, but I understand that not everyone was blessed with a green thumb. This piece is also a way to include anyone who wishes they had more green in their life.
Sprouts are a soft visual representation of new beginnings and for that reason offers hope. The base echos the bubbles and drew drops incorporated in my Lotus Series which captures the beauty of waters ability to capture and refract light. Clear water is a cleansing and calming but also sheds light on our more simple needs and desires.
The root system depicted within the base offers a little something more for those who are curious. Depending on the angle that the roots are viewed they almost disappear. Usually the root systems for plants are not visible but this surrealist sculpture offers a unique view on growth.
